The Unofficial “Official” ‘DWTS’ Rankings

.
We can’t talk about last night’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ without discussing Karina and J.R. who had one of the most memorable nights in the show’s history. Two perfect scores, good for a perfect sixty! Gee, I wonder who will be ranked number one? There’s only one way to find out -to the rankings!

.
Rob Kardashian (Last Week’s Ranking -4) The ‘DWTS’ brass has been doing a lot to try and convince us all that Rob is the favorite to lose this thing to Ricki and J.R. in the finale, but I’m not buying it. Despite the “you’re what this show is all about” hyperbole, I think in a (sort of) surprise, Rob goes home this week. I talked last week about how the overall negative Kardashian backlash would rear its head and hurt young Rob and methinks that’ll go down tonight. Look, Rob has improved, no doubt, but in a two horse race (and trust me, this is most certainly a two horse race) that won’t matter nearly as much as how people are feeling about you during a particular week. Sorry, Rob.
.
Nancy Grace (Last Week’s Ranking -6) Now, I know the smart money would be to bet on Nancy’s ouster, but I’ve been doing that for weeks now and I’m NEVER right. Nancy had a bad night and by all accounts she is most deserving of the boot. I just don’t see it happening. One could easily point to her lack of overall likability, I’d say she’s been unlikable for the entire run of the show and she’s survived. To take it a step further, what many see as unlikable, I actually see as kind of playful. I’m not sure Tristan sees it that way, but I honestly think Nancy is under the impression that she’s just being fun. Len, sees it differently and implored the audience the to send her packing tonight, which seemed kind of mean and could result in her fan base (and there is one) rallying around her tonight, thus leading to Rob’s demise.
.
Hope Solo (Last Week’s Ranking -5) Having a partner like Maks has certainly been a double edged sword for our friend, Hope. On the one hand, he’s popular and has probably saved her from elimination on a few occasions. On the other, he’s aggressive and sometimes inappropriate in his methods. In other words, he can be a bit of a bear. We saw the team of Maks and Hope wrestle with that dichotomy, but in the end they made (television) amends this week and had their best night of the competition. Hope looked more relaxed and seemed to be having genuine fun and really looked like the runner up to the runner up this week.
.

.
Ricki Lake (Last Week’s Ranking -2) I actually toyed with ranking Ricki third this week after an incredibly lackluster evening. In the end, though, Ricki’s body of work has been so solid, that I still can’t see a dark horse swooping in and unseating her in her trusty number two slot. Besides, Ricki’s first dance was pretty great and truth be told unless you’re a certain war hero, nobody nails the Instant Jive so it’s essentially a wash.
