The Avengers is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, and it could very well be the most anticipated superhero movie of all time. The Marvel all-stars are appearing on this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly, and in the issue you can read what the cast and writer-director Joss Whedon had to say about shooting with each other in Albuquerque.

Gracing the cover are Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Evans (Captain America), and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk). Entertainment Weekly also published several photos from the set, as well as closeups of each cast member. While the shots are green screen heavy, we do get a look at Captain America’s new suit as well as Black Widow and Hawkeye in the heat of battle. Based on the amount of debris in photos two and three, we should be expecting some pretty epic action scenes.
